Technical Lead, Brussels

Our client, a fast-growing B2C operator in iGaming, are looking for a highly experienced Technical Lead / Solutions Architect who combines strong software engineering expertise with architectural vision and hands-on execution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, guiding engineering teams, improving system design, and contributing directly to implementation when needed.You will work closely with the CTO, development teams, DevOps, QA, Product, and external providers to help evolve our platform ecosystem, integrations, delivery processes, and technical standards. This is a senior individual contributor role with strong technical leadership responsibilities rather than a people-management-focused position.What You Will Do

Design and evolve scalable, maintainable, and resilient system architectures Lead technical decision-making across frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure Collaborate closely with the CTO to define technical standards, best practices, and long-term architectural direction Support engineering teams through mentoring, technical guidance, and hands-on problem solvingParticipate actively in implementation, code reviews, refactoring, and technical improvements Drive improvements in software quality, observability, performance, reliability, and security Design and maintain integrations with third-party providers including betting platforms, CRM systems, gamification tools, payment providers, analytics platforms, and external APIsHelp improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies, and engineering productivity Identify technical debt and define pragmatic modernization strategies Support incident analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause investigations when necessary Contribute to technical planning and estimation for new features, projects, and brand launchesEnsure technical solutions align with business priorities and operational realities What We Are Looking For

Strong experience as Technical Lead, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Solutions Architect, or similar senior technical role Solid background in scalable web platforms and distributed systems Experience working in iGaming, sportsbook, casino, fintech, or other high-availability environments Strong understanding of React and modern frontend architecturesExperience designing APIs, integrations, middleware systems, and event-driven solutions Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud-native architectures Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, observability, and production operations Ability to balance architectural quality with pragmatic delivery needsStrong debugging, performance optimization, and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and collaboration capabilities Comfortable working in a remote-first and highly autonomous environment
